Frequently Asked Questions

What is the free consultation for?

A 15-minute free consultation with a therapist offers an opportunity to assess whether the therapist's approach and expertise align with your needs. It allows you to ask questions about the therapy process, confidentiality, and treatment options in a low-pressure setting. This brief session also helps you determine if you feel comfortable and supported, which is crucial for establishing a successful therapeutic relationship.

How does telehealth work?

All sessions are conducted through teletherapy, offering live video sessions to anyone residing in Texas for added convenience and accessibility. We use a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform, SimplePractice, that can be accessed from your computer, tablet, or phone. Please note that, for confidentiality and safety we cannot conduct a session if you are driving, in public, or are not alone in your private setting.

Do you take insurance?

At this time, we are self-pay only and do not accept insurance. However, we can provide clients with a superbill. This is a detailed invoice containing specific service codes and our license number. We recommend contacting your insurance provider to determine potential reimbursement for out-of-network services, as reimbursement is not always guaranteed.

How long are the sessions?

Therapy sessions are typically scheduled once a week and last around 53 minutes. This regular cadence allows us to develop a strong therapeutic connection, explore your concerns, and work together toward your treatment objectives.

How long does treament usually last?

Therapy is not a quick solution, and the duration depends on your individual needs. If you are facing a sudden, unexpected crisis, short-term support may last around six weeks. However, for long-standing issues, treatment could extend over three months. Many of our clients commit to therapy for an average of six months, with some returning during various life transitions over the years. The duration of your therapy is based on your unique progress and needs.
